|
How do I get my mic channels to work?
|
The W-12 has connections for two microphone inputs, which are the
inputs to two internal microphone preamps. The mics are wired to these
connectors as indicated in the product manual. You must then use a
Y-adapter cable to connect a microphone preamp output to the left and
right inputs of the channel you want that microphone to be controlled
by. Do the same thing with the other mic.

|
How do I increase the number of mic channels?
|
Although the W-12 has only two microphone inputs using internal
preamps, you can always connect additional mics by using external mic
preamps. Only the first four fader channels can be assigned to studio
talkback, so operator mics would need to be on one of these four faders.

|
Can I have more phone (caller) inputs?
|
The W-12 console has one dedicated phone caller input. If you need
to handle additional callers with this console, please see our white
paper
Making
The Connection (pdf).

|
How do I set up talkback from the control room to the studio?
|
Any of the first four faders can be set to feed the internal
talkback bus. The audio on this bus interrupts the studio output when
the studio TB button on the console is pressed.

How do I set up talkback from the studio to the control room?
|
Any W-12 fader with an assigned logic port is put into CUE when an
external user-supplied switch, connected to either pins 17 and 19
– port 1 – or 23 and 25 – port 2 – of that fader's
DB-25 logic connector, is pressed. The operator can then hear that
fader's audio over the console CUE system.

|
How do I talk with the caller off line?
|
Any of the first four faders can be set to feed the internal
talkback bus. The audio on this bus interrupts the caller feed output
when the caller COM button on the console is pressed.
